Our Story

Meet Paul and Chrissie Jarram, the warm and welcoming hosts behind our woodland retreat. Paul and Chrissie’s journey is a story of love, adventure, and a shared passion for hospitality. They met while working in Xi’an, China, where they got married in 1988 and made their home in the renowned Shangri-La Golden Flower Hotel. These formative years gave them a deep appreciation for creating comfortable, memorable experiences for guests.

 

After returning to the UK, Paul and Chrissie retired from their international careers but couldn’t resist the call of hospitality. They took over the historic Ropsley Fox pub, transforming it into a local gem that went on to win the prestigious title of Best Pub Restaurant in Lincolnshire. Their years at the Fox taught them the importance of attention to detail, genuine care, and crafting spaces where people feel truly at home.

 

Now, they’ve turned their focus to their idyllic woodland retreat, bringing their wealth of experience to create a tranquil escape. Paul and Chrissie’s goal is simple: to help their guests unwind, reconnect with nature, and make cherished memories in a peaceful, welcoming environment.
